Well, I have a confession to make: I'm a real pain in the bottom when it comes to perfume. When looking for the right scent I found the majority too floral, way too heavy (it's very often that particular scents give me an headache), too girly, too musky or too much like toilet cleaner and yes even too much grandma smelling (no offense). And when I finally found a perfume I liked, I didn't liked it enough to be wearing every day. Like Sun by Jil Sander for example. I've gone though many bottles of this lovely scent (always reminds me of summer). It's perfect for holiday season, but it's just not the kind of perfume I like to spray on every day.
I was into perfume from a very young age. My mother always had (and still has) these chique looking bottles on her vanity and when it was a special day (like the first day of a new year at school, my birthday or any other festivity) I was aloud to wear a little drop behind my ears and onto my wrists (yes, my mom thought me good).
So when did I find my signature scent? This was years ago, at the time when I used to wear Tommy Girl by Tommy Hilfiger, Cool Water by Davidoff and L'eau D'issey by Issey Miyake (FIY: all these fragrances would give me a headache nowadays). I accidentally tried Cinéma by Yves Saint Laurent while shopping for a present, and couldn't stop smelling my wrist the rest of the day. I told my mom that I found this amazing perfume and told her name of the scent. Not knowing that next Christmas, a view months later, I found a little package with my name on it: I was around seventeen and in perfume heaven. And I haven't found anything better, since.
When I'm wearing Cinéma, almost everyday, people always tell me I smell great (what's not to like, right?). But besides that, and the fact that the simple design of the bottle is perfect, the scent is nothing like anything else you've ever tried. It's fresh, but not in a standard way. It's chique and classic, but not too musky. And it lasts the entire day (all of my shawls smell amazing because of this perfume). Since founding my perfect match I tried other perfumes as well, but nothing beats Cinéma by Yves Saint Laurent.
