Sometimes you just need a view things to make a simple table look like so much more.
Not hanging your mirror (by Ikea) can really make a difference. The mirror becomes more part of the table, and can change the whole look and feel.
Using books to decorate your home might sound a bit weird, but actually works very well. I choose my favorite fashion related books, with almost the right size. They also give colour to a very white and clean interior.
Another tip is to use big pieces. It's better to have one big statement couch, then one small couch and two little chairs for example. Same counts for lamps, that's why I like this big lamp on my dressing table (by Ikea). It becomes (again) part of the table, instead of just placing another little lamp because I 'also' needed extra light.
The huge leather jewelry box (which I actually use) is by Lifestyle. A place where you can find affordable, but timeless pieces to make your interior more of a home. On top is a little white box (used to be a lovely candle). I used a silver platter for my perfume bottles, to add a little light.
Another tip is to balance the colours you use. I prefer a clean and simple looking interior, but still added colour with my books. But the base is always white. So choose a colour palette, and work from there. Don't overdue it, but always make sure it's something pretty you like to look at. After all, it's your home, not the set of a shoot for an interior magazine.
