As an fashionlover I'm always on the hunt for the right basics. Whether it's (another) little black dress, a pair of comfy white jeans or the most classy navy jacket ever, I like to keep looking for better options than the pieces I've already hanging in my closet.
Same counts for the perfect basic tee. Sounds easy, but it's not. Finding the perfect white tee can be as hard a finding the perfect fitted skinny jeans (I've been there, and it was and still is pretty difficult). So when I visited COS the other day, while enjoying come casual shopping, and found the perfect white tee, you can understand my excitement. It's basic, but still looks classy. Not too tight, but also not too loose. And although it may look like another random t-shirt, it's not. To me it's something that I've been looking for during a long time. And can really make or break an outfit. I love throwing on a pair of blue skinny jeans, a good basic and strappy sandals. Very easy, very clean, very nice. But because it's so basic, the pieces you're wearing have to fit perfectly.
So what to look for when you're on the hunt for the perfect basic tee? Besides the fabric (which is simple and soft by the way), and the fitting (like mentioned above), the length is really important. As soon as the tee is too long the whole look becomes a disaster. I think the t-shirt should be falling a little bit over the beginning of your jeans. And I prefer wearing them tucked inside my jeans in the front (know what I mean), and let the rest hang over my jeans. So always try on tees before you buy them, and make sure you buy the right length.
