If you think Monday morning feels like the hardest day to get out off bed, you're not the only one.
The weekend pasted by way too soon and now it's cold and raining outside. So, honestly you'd rather stay in bed while watching old movies all day long, right? So, what can you do to beat those Monday blues?
Here are some tips to make you jump out of bed (well almost), and actually makes you longing for that new Monday morning.
- Set you alarm clock with your favorite music. Hearing those nice tunes while waking up already feels so much better.
- Pick your clothes the night before, and wear something that always makes you feel happy and confident. For example, things that make you in the mood for Spring. Like that statement necklace, a cashmere sweater, or a midi skirt with printed flowers. When you're dressed well, it's easier to start the day.
- Plan an evening with your best friend, so you've something to look forward to, after work. Who said you can't drink a nice glass of Sauvignon blanc on a Monday evening?
- Bring something yummy for lunch. Like a spelt sandwich or a chocolate chip muffin. Indulge yourself.
- You can actually wear those new suede heels you bought. I mean, during the weekend while doing grocery's, they're not that handy. And when having drinks in a nice cocktail bar you're only afraid someone will spill on them. But during office time you can relax and wear those shoes with pride.
- Prepare on Friday for Monday. So make sure you answer every email and other messages. And make a list of things to do first when arriving Monday morning. This way you feel organized and more relaxed.
- Think about the things you like about your job. Does it make you feel more confident? Did it gave you the possibility to be more creative? Do you like working in a team? Just something that reminds you why you like this job and what it may bring you in the near future.
- And if you really feel like staying in, make sure there's something waiting for you at home, at the end of the day. Like a pile of fashion magazines you still haven't read (and your phone on the silent mode). The latest episode of that tv serie you can't get enough of, Ben & Jerry's Belgium chocolate ice-cream in the freezer or a hot bath with luxurious bath salt and too many candles (hello relax mood).
- Or (and I know this one sounds really difficult) try to get up early to go for a morning run in the park. Everything looks so much better after a good workout.
